Race Committee Members (4)

We are seeking 4 individuals to serve on the Race Committee in the following subcommittee chairperson roles.

Team Captain Recruitment and Support
This sub-committee leader will encourage continuing participation of team captains who have served in the past and recruit new teams. In months and weeks preceding the race, the sub-committee leader will provide team captains with performance data, training and tips that facilitate team development and fundraising.

Sponsor Development
This sub-committee leader will assist PSW Executive Director to execute a plan to obtain sponsor support at a level that is 20% or above the event fund-raising goal.

Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination
This sub-committee leader will recruit race volunteers and working with other subcommittee chairs to deploy, train and supervise them.

Raffle and Merchandise Sale Management
This sub-committee leader will secure prizes for the raffle, create and execute a plan for displaying the prizes, organize pre-race raffle advertising and ticket sales, and run the raffle—including set up, sales, and drawings— on race day. This sub-committee leader will also decide what to include in merchandise sales, set merchandise pricing, and be in charge of transporting the merchandise to and from the event.

Course Volunteers (20)

Our course volunteers help runners and walkers stay on track using voice and hand signals. They also assist wheelchairs up on course elevation changes, and help keep spirits soaring as the race progresses. Course volunteers need to be loud with an outgoing personality – cheering as the runners and walkers pass!
This role requires standing for several hours at a time.

Parking Volunteers (10)

Work with our parking director and Hamilton County Park Rangers on efficiently and safely getting cars into the lot the morning of the race. Help direct race participants towards the event entrance/start line. 
This role requires standing for several hours at a time.

Water Station Volunteers (12)

Work at one of our three water stations. Fill water cups, hand water to runners, pick up trash after runners and walkers pass. This is a great opportunity for your club or business to gain visibility and work together.
This role requires standing for approximately 2 hours.

Finish Line Crew (10)

Work at one of our three water stations. Fill water cups, hand water to runners, pick up trash after runners and walkers pass. This is a great opportunity for your club or business to gain visibility and work together.
This role requires standing for several hours at a time.

Lil' striders volunteers (5)

Help organize Lil’ striders before the start of race into age groups and direct the runners around the course. Must enjoy working with children.
This role requires standing for several hours at a time.

Face Painters (2)

Use your artistic talents to paint kids' faces pre- and post-race. Must have artistic background and enjoy working with children. Paint and supplies will be provided. This is a seated role.

Day-of Registration Volunteers (12)

Help in the registration and packet pick up office on race day! We serve several hundred registrants on race morning. Volunteers will make sure registration forms are filled out completely and correctly and collect money (cash or credit card) from race day registrants. These volunteers will use credit card squares and make change if needed. 3 volunteers will be runners for those working window grabbing race packets/shirts.  
There are opportunities both for individuals who can easily move around and those who would be more comfortable seated.

Day-of Packet Pick-Up Volunteers (6)

Hand out the previously prepared packet that belongs to each participant. Those working packet pick-up on race day will hand out the packets based on T-shirt size and mark names on a sheet to indicate that packet has been picked up. 3 volunteers will be runners for those working the window.
There are opportunities both for individuals who can easily move around and those who would be more comfortable seated.

Advance Packet Pick-Up Volunteers (4 each day)

Stuff packets with race bag goodies and information on Thursday, May 17, 2018 or Friday, May 18, 2018 at our Race Partner (TBA) store. Hand out packets based on T-shirt size and mark names on sheet to indicate packet has been picked up.
This is a seated role. 

Raffle station Attendants (3)

Sell raffle tickets before and after the race, help handle money and provide change. Help draw tickets and distribute baskets to winners following raffle.
This role requires standing for several hours at a time.

Food station Attendants (8)

Set up and restock refreshments before and after the race. 
This role requires standing for several hours at a time, but will not require any heavy lifting.
