This big day— Saturday, October 1— is right around the corner! We can’t wait for Steady Strides and want to share some details about the event with you.
First of all, we have a few changes to our schedule this year. We’re starting a little later to accommodate folks who need a little extra time to get up and moving in the mornings.
8:00am Gates Open and Event Check-in Begins
9:00am Brian Thomas welcome and New Brew introduced/Food Court is open
9:40am Pre-race Staging for staggered starts and warm-ups
9:55am National Anthem & Final Instructions at Start/Finish Line
10:00am 5K Run/Walk Start
10:45am Runner’s Awards
11:00am Lil’ Striders Fun Run
Team Awards
12:00pm Raffle Drawing
Ticket sales will conclude 10 minutes prior to the drawing.
12:30pm Post-race party concludes
Special parking passes will be available during advance day packet pick-up for those requiring additional assistance on race day. Courtesy carts will transport those who need assistance to and from the Stadium Concourse.
Plan to arrive at least 1 hour early to familiarize yourself with the facility and start/finish areas. You may also bring friends and family to register onsite Saturday morning. If you plan to register day of, please arrive no later than 9:10am. Please allow extra time to arrive as Kings Island will be open and while early, some Kings Island traffic may occur.
The course will be clearly marked with cones and Course Marshalls will be at key spots. If 3.1 miles is too far for you, we will have an abbreviated 1 mile course. This year there will be one water station strategically set up on the course for runners near the 2 mile marker plus water will be available at the short course turn around and at the finish line. The starting Line/Finish Line will be marked by an arch near the post-race party area.
Our amazing array of raffle prizes may be viewed and tickets purchased at the raffle kiosk and from wandering raffle ticket sellers. Tickets will sell for $5 each/5 for $20. Ticket sales will end at 11:45am. Winners will be posted at the Raffle Kiosk at Noon.
